We’re thrilled, delighted and ecstatic to have made the finals of the National Security Awards, following our joint submission with NSI! We’re placed in the Contribution to Standards in the Security Sector’ category and we’re in good company – competition is fierce.
As the industry’s leading trade association; and with NSI the premier certification body in the security and fire safety industry, it seemed wholly appropriate to blend our common objectives and collaborate, in order to make significant strides in an industry where reputation and confidence have been affected by a number of high profile accidents; and a decline in consumer confidence.
It’s been a big year for DHF. This year, we have created the pioneering Code of Practice (DHF TS 011: 2016: Code of Practice for the Design, Manufacture, Installation and Maintenance of Powered Gates and Traffic Barriers), which is the first comprehensive guide for the powered gate industry, aimed at raising standards and reducing risk. NSI have used this Code as the foundation for its thorough Gates Certification Scheme that verifies ‘approved companies’ work to the highest standards and deliver safe, compliant products for customers.
We’re all delighted to have been chosen as finalists! Here’s what others have to say:
“This selection recognizes the excellent work done by everyone at NSI and DHF on this project,” says DHF’s CEO, Bob Perry. “I am sure our combined efforts will make a real difference in our industry: raising safety standards while reassuring and protecting customers”.
Richard Jenkins, NSI’s CEO similarly echoed Bob’s sentiments: “This dedicated team effort has been tremendous and our selection reflects this. DHF and NSI can be justly proud of their achievements so far, which will improve public safety and the industry’s reputation”.
